Hey, after a massive 11 hours of travelling yesterday we finally made it to koh phangon island and the morning star resort, which is off the hook..amazing accomodation and so cheap. So 3 buses and a boat later we got here and made our way tot he accomodation, to find a note from marcus inviting us down to see himn and the boys, so after a feed Marcus turned up on his scooter so we got a ride with him down the road, picked up some changs, avoided the police and had a few beers. From here we loaded up a tuk tuk and went down to hat rin beach the home of the full moon party, words can not describe the atmosphere down there, totally off the chain, meet up with Geoff got silly for a while before gettting a feed and retiring back to bed..woke up thiis morning with Marcus besides me and thats where he is still lying, i managed to score the super king sized bed we have in our room so didnt even notice him there.
Patong was very intense so to get here is a bit of a relief. Our suits got made up and on the last night we burned around on the scooters to fill in the time before picking them up. had an amazing feed of shrimps and prawns, and every feed i have had so far in this country has been based around those two types of seafood. Overall in our day on the scooters we would of clocked up around 150km , we went everywhere, was awesome, so worth it very glad we did that.
Today is new years eve and this place is crawling in anticipation for a big night, the boys are still in bed so im going to go for a run and then probably head into town on the scooter to see geofff and lads before diving in to my fair share of changs and chasing them down with these amazing bucket mixes that absolutly blow your brains out. happy new year to all at home have a good on..
your on the road with turnz
Yo from Patong still, today has consisted of getting up late hung over from a big night on the changs last night, met some americans and got silly with them, was good fun, today we maned up and got on the scooters and have been around all of phuket, a awesome experience, pretty scary, fast paced, but if you drive aggressively you fit right in. Went and sat on Kata beach, much more quiet, no one trying to sellyou jetskis etc, was good fun....
Currently sitting in an internet cafe with quinn and about 20 5 year old kids going mental on the internet, pretty funny..tongiht ned to go and pick up suit that got made, gone for the pin stripe look. shooppping is pretty cheap, everything is fake and so much shit, you just haggle the people and they hate it. ripped a few people off but no doubt we have been ripped off at some stage..
other than that we are all safe and well, heading back to motel now for a bit of a rest before spending the rest of the arvo touring around on the scooters.

Hi All, first update from thailand, it all started yesterday morning in auckland at 130am, we were picked up and taken to airport. flight from auckalnd to brunei was long but went faster than expected, was disapointing that there was no inflight entertainment system on this flight, but it did start working towards the end, mione jammed so i had to sleep as quinn watched movies.
Got to brunei and this was just on stop over didnt leave the airport here, carried on through to bangkok and what a massive bit of dcity that place is, the airport was pretty amazing as we managed to get through customs unharmed and coordinate ourselves for the flight to phuket..our bags werer transfered through to phuket so we put trust in the airport people to get them there. By the stage that we landed in phuket we had pretty much been gonig 24 hours with a few sporadic moments of sleep inbetween
Into phuket we were picked up at the airport by our accomodation and whisked into patong beach, this was possibly the most craziest car ride we have ever had, with cars, scooters etc going in all direction. Brand new hiluxs everywher with about 15 people on the back....once into accom we walked down the street to find some sort of western food and water before heading back to bed for som deservant sleep. We paid $5nz each for dinner whcih was a pizza and a few beers, everything is ridiculously cheap and easy to get here,
Today we got up early and wandered down the road to get a view of the beach in the day light and find a few places, im currently sitting here typing while quinn is having a beer in the bar accorss the road, local time is 9:20am in the morning, plan for today is book our bus to the islands to see the boys and then possibly hit the beach before going out for a sniff tonight, along the way we will haggle and barter with people to try and pick up some cheap goods, suits look like the go today.
better be off, not much time left, will update in the next few days.

Hi all
Recently i have been involved in a few challenges of titanic proportion, i also have a few more biggys coming up that well see me into the new year and my much awaited move to the United Kingdom on feb 4th 2009
Swim for Gold Challenge August 2008 - Got roped in by roving Waimea Weekly reporter AJ Board to try and swim 14000 lengths (35km) in 21 days in august as part of the swim for gold olympic promotion... with a few early morning starts and some intense training i managed to fail the challenge, only completing 740 lengths in the alotted time slot..This challenge was riddled with positives though, one being at first i was a rubbish swimmer, having to stop every 1 length for a breath, now i can complete 40 (1km) with ease without stopping..second positive is that i have kept the swimming up.
Krefty and Turnz Kayak mission to Kaiteri 20th Dec 2008 - Krefty and I are currently training for a big mission from nelson port to kaiteri in sea kayaks, after a few training sessions and close calls with Seals we are looking good, the only barrier we are facing at the moment is krefty is to big and cannot fit in your standard humans kayak, we are looking at other options to accomodate big cliff...Watch this space.
Kahurangi Classic Adventure Race Dec 13th 2008 - As team leader into this race i have been the slackest on the training front. The staff from school are involved in this and i will be partaking in the 30km mountain bike leg from the cobb valley to upper takaka....watch this space
Contact Energy Wanaka Sprint Triathlon 17th Jan 2009 - Turnz is taking on the big dogs in wanaka in his first triathlon...after spending 15 days in thailand prior to this week i will be a little bit under the weather, but im looking at the postives to come out of thailand, huge weight loss in short time if i get food poisioning, the heat will help me train hopefully providing advantage over dog roll and his mates. Training has started for this and im currently working on the base fitness at this stage of my program, as daylight savings rolls around ill look to step up the training time and make use of this wonderful training facility we call Nelson.
Keep an eye on these races/events
For all my mates out there that want to see a few videos from my travels go to on the road with turnz on you tube and have a look, some of them are private so i need your youtube user name first, flick that to me.
